The story of Our Guard Mutual

In 2021, it was identified that as an industry, the Australian Customer Owned Banks, Credit Unions & Building Societies had been misunderstood and, therefore, seemingly mispriced by the traditional market for Financial Lines products.

Working with the industry, and Financial Lines experts, the Our Guard  Financial Lines Solution is available to our Members only.

By coming together as an industry, products have been designed to meet the needs of the sector, and drive long-term effectiveness and benefits.

As a not-for-profit, customer-owned Mutual, Our Guard enables  Members to drive long-term effectiveness and benefits for the sector.

The Members of Our Guard are Customer Owned Banking Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions in Australia.

Our Guard was created and launched by Picnic Labs Limited (Picnic)

The Financials Lines Solution includes 2 complementary products including Insurance that is underwritten by Lloyd’s insurers authorised by APRA.

The Insurance Policy is complemented by a Discretionary Risk Protection product for small claims or to reimburse the insurance Policy Deductible.
